MISSION
Our curriculum is based on the California State Standards. Our goal is to provide our students with a developmentally appropriate and challenging instructional program that increases the student’s knowledge, confidence, skills and motivation to engage in a lifelong active and healthy lifestyle.
EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL STUDENTS
*Arrive at the locker room BEFORE the tardy bell. Students should be on their roll call numbers four minutes after the tardy bell. Students arriving late to class must have a note from a teacher or the office.
*We recommend jewelry is removed and locked in the locker. Removing jewelry helps prevent loss, damage and personal injury.
*Keep food, candy, gum, beverages, glass containers and aerosol spray cans out of the locker rooms.
*Lock up ALL personal items in assigned locker during class time. Students are responsible for their own possessions. Students will be issued a combination lock at the beginning of the year. If the lock is not returned, a fee of $5.00 will be charged.
*Keep the physical education area clean and respect all facilities and equipment.
*NO cell phones, I-pods, sunglasses or cameras shall be brought to class. Camera devices are NOT allowed in the locker room and will be given to the Assistant Principals.
*Use appropriate language towards staff, visitors, and other students. Profanity is not acceptable.
*Listen and follow directions.
*Horseplay, hands-on and inappropriate behavior is not acceptable.
*Keep the environment positive and safe by showing good sportsmanship, being respectful and solving disagreements.
STUDENT PARTICIPATION
*Students are expected to fully participate in the assigned activities. Shoes need to be safe for physical activities. Shorts should not sag and shirts should not be tied in the back. Uniforms must be worn until the students enter the locker room.
*Students are expected to dress out every day for class. Students need to demonstrate responsibility by being prepared but loaners are available if their uniform was left at home. Excessive use of loaners will affect a student’s citizenship grade and result in detention.
*A parent note may excuse a student for up to 3 days. A doctor’s note is required for longer than 3 days. The student will be assigned to the office where a written assignment must be completed.
*Students are responsible for making up any absences and work before the end of the unit. Failure to do so will result in a lower grade.
PARENT PARTICIPATION
*Please give us your email address. We find this is the easiest way to communicate student progress.
